In October we celebrated Education Month and the theme was “Promoting Quality Education Through Healthy Minds and Bodies.” Literacy week, also fell during Education month and was celebrated October 24-31, 2023. As a part of the Energy Group plans, the Barbados National Oil Company Limited (BNOCL) and the Barbados National Terminal Company Limited (BNTCL) reflected on their core value of powering our nation’s children, and enabling them for a better quality of life.
The Energy Reading initiative was implemented so that staff could give back by reading to a few of the schools in their vicinity. Prior to the reading, staff participated in a book drive, where the books were then donated to the two participating schools, Reynold Weeks and Gordon Walters Primary. The students were extremely excited to have staff read to them and enjoyed the interaction immensely.
