Rules and Guidelines
Concept: Design a mascot character for B-360, a sub brand of the Barbados National Oil Company that embodies the spirit of an "Energy Hero" championing renewable energy solutions.
Eligibility:
This competition is open to all students currently enrolled in secondary schools within Barbados between the ages of 11-17.
Competition Timeline:
Submission Period: May 1-17, 2024
Winner Announcement: May 24, 2024
Submission Guidelines:
- All entries must be original creations and not infringe on any existing copyrights or trademarks.
- Mascots can be submitted as drawings, paintings, or digital illustrations.
- There is no limit on the amount of students that enter.
- All entries should be scanned saved as a png or jpg and submitted to the email address
- Each entry must be accompanied by a short description (maximum 50 words) explaining how the mascot represents B-360's "Energy Hero" persona and its commitment to renewable energy.
- Submissions should be emailed to hazlewoods@bnocl.com with the subject line "B-360 Energy Hero Mascot Competition - [Your Name/School Name]".
Judging Criteria:
- Originality and creativity of the mascot design
- Effective portrayal of B-360 as an "Energy Hero" for renewable solutions
- Suitability of the mascot for use in promotional materials
- Overall appeal, memorability, and positive character traits
Prizes:
Winning School: $500 will be awarded to the school of the winning student
Grand Prize:
The winning student will receive an art supply basket, sip, and paint gift certificates for themselves and three friends.
Additional Information:
- The decision of the judges is final.
- By entering the competition, all participants grant the Barbados National Oil Company the right to use the winning mascot design for promotional purposes related to B-360.
- Unsuccessful entries may be utilized in the Barbados National Oil Company 2025 annual calendar
