During the Months of April-June, 2020 the Energy Group has done a number of donations.

During the month of June, five laptops were donated to the Ministry of Education, Technological and Vocational Training.   Subsequently a donation of five tablets were donated to the Graydon Sealy Secondary School.  

The Energy group also gifted Schoolhouse for special Needs Inc.  ten tablets for students who did not have access to online school.  

A donation of 515 cloth face mask were given to class four students and teachers of the Luther Thorne Memorial, St. Catherine, St. Philip, Reynold Weekes, Gordon Walters and St. Bartholomew Primary Schools. Boxes of disposable mask were also donated to the Ministry to assist students who may soil or forget their mask at home.


The Barbados National Oil Company Limited (BNOCL) was pleased to assist 20 students of the Gordon Walters Primary School, St. Patrick’s, Christ Church with tablets for their online school learning experience.   This initiative falls under the core values of BNOCL as they have a strong culture of Corporate Social Responsibility and one of their tenets is Energy for Social enhancement.

“Acknowledging the need for devices for school students during this trying time, we saw this as the perfect opportunity to ‘give back’ to our community and help our Nation’s Children.” Said, Mr. Pedro Bushelle, Group IT Manager.

Each tablet was configured and tested by the schools IT personal and students were then asked to collect.  We look forward to helping the next generation build a brighter tomorrow.

As the BNOCL transitions to a fully integrated Energy Company, it is our vision to ensure our community benefits from this change. We will continue to play our part in assisting Barbadians across the landscape and we strive for improvements in the nations’ energy security.


The National Petroleum Corporation was pleased to assist the Ministry of Education in their drive to provide devices to students who were unable to attend online classes due to the lack of technology.  As a part of the NPC’s Corporate Responsibility this donation was readily done to assist their neighboring school, the Luther Thorne Memorial Primary School.

Human Resources Manager, Ms. Mechelle Smith, expressed that NPC was pleased to contribute to this initiative as it will benefit the continuing education and development of the students, the future of Barbados, particularly in light of the economic hardships that many parents are enduring  at this time. 

The cheque was presented to the Principal, Ms. Maria Benn, on May 11, 2020.
